Have a project idea?
Do you have a great project idea you'd love to see the Lansing Jaycees run? Bring those ideas to our upcoming area committee meetings and help plan out the rest of the 2012 calendar.
Have a project idea for personal/professional development? Bring your idea to the Individual Development Committee on Wednesday, May 23 at 5:30 p.m. at Gone Wired Cafe, 2021 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing. ID Vice President Joe Kelly would love to hear your project suggestions. Interested in helping with recruiting members or planning social activities for the Chapter? Membership Vice President Danielle Wellington will hold a committee meeting Tuesday, May 29 at 6 p.m. at Olga's in Frandor. Want to help make an impact in our community? Plan to attend the Community Development Committee meeting on Wednesday, May 30 at 6 p.m. at Grand Traverse Pie Company located at 1403 E. Grand River in East Lansing with Community Development Vice President Eric Richmond. Can't make it to the meetings, but you still want to help plan/share project ideas? No worries, feel free to forward your project ideas to the appropriate vice president or president Lauren Leeds. May's happiest hour(s)!To start the Memorial Day weekend off with a bang, members of the Lansing Jaycees will gather together Friday, May 25 at one of our favorite local spots: Darb's Tavern & Eatery in Mason. If the weather is nice enough, we might even be able to soak up some sun on the patio. Please RSVP for this event so we can save a seat for you. There is limited seating and that will help ensure we are all sitting close to one another. The link for Darb's website follows, in case you want to view the menu ahead of time: www.darbstavern.com Hope to see you there!
Snackers for a good cause!
Do you love Olga's? Then we have fantastic news for you! Early next month you can indulge your desire for snackers and help out the Chapter.
On Saturday, June 2 you can eat at Olga's between 10:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. and a portion of your bill will help raise funds for the Lansing Jaycees. You must bring in this flyer to have your bill count towards the Chapter's fundraiser. For those interested in dining with a group of Jaycees, there will definitely be familiar faces at the restaurant from noon to 2 p.m. for lunch, and again from 5 to 7 p.m. for dinner. Come hungry, as the amount donated increases as the total of your bill grows.
Let's kick cancer's butt! Our chapter is once again participating in the American Cancer Society's 24-hour walk-a-thon from 2 p.m. on Friday, June 8 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9 at the Lansing Catholic High School Track. Please join us to help in the fight against cancer. You can help us reach our goal of a world with less cancer and more birthdays by getting involved today! Want to help raise money and be part of the Chapter's team? You can sign up for our team here. Don't have time to fundraise or walk at Relay? You can support the team with a general donation, or choose a Jaycee to support here. Additionally, ID Vice President Joe Kelly is now accepting votes for how to trim his beard post-Relay. You can vote for one of many possible designs for $1 a vote.
