Charlie Root, Membership Vice President Spring is in the air, and that means it is time to start talking softball! The Lansing Jaycees will have a team playing in the Meridian Township League again this year, and we need to know who's interested in playing. The games will be played on Monday evenings, but the exact dates have not been released yet. There would also be regular practices, but that schedule should be worked out once the team has shaped up. If you are interested, or have any questions, don't hesitate to contact either Melissa Horste, Nick Halpin, or me. All of our email addresses are listed below. I am excited for another great season of softball, and I hope to see you all out there, either on the field or in the stands. Thank you all for being a part of the greatest young people's organization on the planet! Do you love camping? Then maybe you'd like to help plan the Lansing Jaycees' annual camping trip, scheduled for July 18 through July 21, location still to be determined. The yearly camping trip is a great way to commune with Mother Nature, get to know your fellow Jaycees and make memories to last a lifetime. If you are interested in helping pick the campground and plan the camping trip, please contact Membership Vice President Charlie Root, croot80@gmail.com, or President Abby Siegel, queenpetunia@hotmail.com. More details on the camping trip to come, so keep your eyes peeled! Convention
Never been to a Michigan Jaycees convention but interested? Mark your calendar for the next state convention, which is May 10 through May 12 in Muskegon. You can register for convention here: http://mijc2013mayleadershipconf.eventbrite.com/ Have questions about attending (carpooling, rooming with other Jaycees, reimbursement, etc.)? Feel free to contact Membership Vice Charlie Root, croot80@gmail.com, or President Abby Siegel, queenpetunia@hotmail.com for more information. Can't attend in May but interested in attending the annual meeting in the fall? Let us know and we can help you get signed up to attend. Bowling for Kids' Sake
Calling all bowlers, we need your help to fundraise for Big Brothers Big Sisters at its annual "Bowl For Kids' Sake" event on Friday, April 26 at Royal Scot from 8 to 10 p.m. Last year the Lansing Jaycees team won first place for the team to raise the most money at our event. Please consider joining the team (you don't have to be a good bowler) to help raise money. The event is a blast (who doesn't like bowling, pizza and beverages?) and you can have a great time while doing something fantasic for a nonprofit that makes a difference in the lives of countless children. Want to join the team? You can register by clicking this link. Can't join the team or be at the event? Don't worry, you can still help fundraise or donate to the Lansing Jaycees' team! Feel free to contact Membership Vice President Charlie Root, croot80@gmail.com, or Community Development Vice President Ruthi Dake, ruthilovesyou87@gmail.com, for more information. Dinner and a Movie
Want to enjoy a delicious meal with friends, followed by a movie, all for a good cause? Join us on Monday, April 15 at Max & Erma's in Eastwood at 6:30 p.m. A percentage of your dinner bill will be donated to Angela Clock's Team in Training team for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Over dinner the group will choose a movie and head to NCG after our meal! Contact Angela Clock, fallingstar924@hotmail.com, for more information. |
